While giving each other a lift across Los Angeles, Ariana Grande and James Cordon sing songs from Ariana’s new album “Sweetener”. Meanwhile, Ariana unchained her pitch-perfect Céline Dion to remind us of her ability to imitate the biggest pop stars.
One of her most weirdly compelling claims to fame is her ability to do uncanny musical impressions which is probably why she returned to it on Carpool Karaoke during Wednesday’s episode of The Late Late Show.
After Grande showed off her extensive vocal range, the two discussed Grande’s childhood birthday parties. “They were so embarrassing,” she said. “My theme of my birthday party when I was like 2 years old was Jaws.” She explained that it was her favorite movie at the time. “No kids came. They came and left,” she said.
The Sweetener singer went through some of her own repertoire with Corden, like “Side to Side,” “God Is a Woman,” and “No Tears Left to Cry.”
She revealed that she practiced being able to sing due to her divas Céline, Beyoncé, Whitney,Destiny’s Child by repeating over and over. James was amazed when Ariana unchained her pitch perfect Céline Dion, singing “it’s all coming back to me now” revealing again her ability to imitate Dion’s Canadian accent.
Ariana revealed also, when James asked her what is the strangest thing she’ve ever read about herself, that she get tons of pregnancy rumors.
Thanks to a photo she once posted of her tour manager carrying her after a video shoot. So, Corden followed up by carrying Grande piggyback style into a Starbucks for a quick snack. Naturally, she ordered her beverage in a Grande size.
“Hello, I’m Ariana Grande. I must be carried,” she said to the bewildered baristas.
“What size would you like?” Corden asked her.
“Oh, I’m gonna get a grande,” she said, cracking up. “Gets them every time!”`
Ending by a song of “Little Shop of Horrors” in which Ariana got it amazingly as usual through her vocal impressions.
